Fudan programming team wins Champion in 2017 ACM-ICPC Hong Kong Regional Contest


On November 19th 2017, Team Animism of Fudan University topped all competitors and won the championship in the Hong Kong Regional Contest of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM-ICPC). With five full hours of intensive programming,  Team Animism formed by three juniors from School of Computer Science answered all 11 questions correctly, becoming the only team that conquered all the questions. At the same time, another Fudan team Euphemia won the third place in the Peking regional contest. In the Xi’an Regional Context which ended not long ago, Team Woodcube from Fudan was ranked the second place.

   ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest is held by Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). It is an annual competition to display college students’ creative ability, team spirit and ability to program, analyze and solve problems under pressure. After more than 40 years of development, the ACM International College Student Program competition has become the most influential college student program design competition in the world.

   The teams of Fudan are recruited and trained under the charge of the Dean’s office and School of Computer Science, and Professor Sun Weiwei from School of Computer Science is the general coach. With unremitting efforts, Fudan programming teams have been participating in the world finals for more than fifteen years and have won multiple glorious honors .
