Fudan Launches Second Lancang-Mekong Youth Training Camp for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Chongming , Shanghai
On 21st July, the 2nd Lancang-Mekong Youth Training Camp for Innovation and Entrepreneurship closed with success at the Xianqiao Ecological Agricultural Products Exhibition Center in Chongming, Shanghai. The Training Camp was held by Fudan and some other parties. During the four-day program, 30 young students from 8 universities of China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam received customized innovation and entrepreneurship training from an international team of experts and mentors and determined the future direction and the method of implementation of their projects. Under professional review, six projects won out, including “Ecotourism Mobile Application” of Prince of Songkla University in Thailand, “Environmental Eco-hotel” of University of Yangon in Myanmar, and “Sangtong Ecological Residence” of National University of Laos, and so on. Students who developed these winning projects would maintain close communication with the mentor team to continuously update their work, and would have the opportunity to apply for initial incubation funds after entering the commercial operation phase.
There were at the opening ceremony of the Training Camp, Zhang Ximing, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee and Minister of the Publicity Depatment of Qinghai, Liu Chenggong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Fudan University, Wu Dejun, Secretary of the CPC Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Committee, Jiang Haimei, Member of the Standing Committee of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, and Minister of the Publicity Department of Yushe, Tang Hailong, Secretary of the CPC Chongming District, Hou Jijun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Chongming District, Pan Hui, Vice President of Guangxi University of Finance and Economics, Qujiang Shangma, Vice President of Qinghai University, Li Jian, Deputy Secretary-general of Shanghai International Culture Association, and other representatives of the organizers.
Also presented at the ceremony were Rey Sophia, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Sisavanh Diadravong, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Planning and Investment of Laos, Nay Win Oo, Deputy Director of Higher Education Department, Ministry of Education, Myanmar, as well as the leaders, experts and young representatives from the top-notch universities of the five major countries along the Mekong River Basin, including Royal University of Phnom Penh, the National University of Laos, University of Yangon in Myanmar, University of Songkhla in Thailand, the Ranci University of Thailand, the Hanoi University of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Vietnam Diplomatic Academy.
According to the resolution of the International Organizing Committee, after the final of the 3rd Training Camp was held in the National University of Laos in January 2018, the final of the 4th YICMG will be held in January 2019 at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The six-nation rotation mechanism of the event will be further implemented.
