the national education policies, studying the development trends of
education in the world and cultivating high-caliber talents of all
kinds for the socialist modernization of China.
Fudan University attaches great importance to the integration of
different disciplines and offers systematical syllabi and activities
for its students. As early as 1994, it adopted a credit system of
educational management, which laid emphasis on the research work of
the students to enhance their creativity as well as practical
skills. Also, the University improves the courses by encouraging
eminent professors to give rudimentary courses and supervise basic
experiments. Besides, as caliber-oriented education has become a key
word of our time, Fudan lays emphasis on students' extracurricular
development. It has established the Funds for Student Scientific
Innovation and the Summer Social Practice Funds for the College
Students. By the Project of Three Hundreds, which includes the
Program of One Hundred Great Lectures, the Reading Program of One
Hundred Great Books, the Program of One Hundred Research Topics and
Social Practices, the University intends to elevate the students in
a comprehensive manner (i.e. morally, intellectually, physically and
esthetically) as the future creators. Fudan has established a strict
educational management system with its own features. It adopts the
tutor system, engages chief professors and takes other measures to
form a good intellectual atmosphere. Hence the local reputation:
"Fudan is the right place for learning."
