  Gan Fuxi

Born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang provice, Gan Fuxi graduated from Zhejiang University in 1952. He got his associate doctor's degree on chemistry from the Soviet Academy of Science in 1959. Now he is a commissioner of the Chinese Academy of Science, one member of State Department about degrees, a managing commissioner of Chinese Scientific and Technical Association and professor of Fudan University. He is mainly engaged in the studies of optics, laser and light electronic information technology. He is now responsible for many scientific projects. His published works include "optics glass", "modern glass science and technology" and "super long wave infrared light communication". Many of his projects have been awarded, among which, the "optics glass" was awarded the National Scientific Great Achievement of 1978, Nature calculation and ingredients' design of abio-glass was awarded the first prize of scientific and technical accomplishment by the Chinese Academy of Science and the third nationwide prize on nnatural science. What's more, his "optics of glass and nature of spectrum" was given the special award of the seventh nationwide excellent scientific and technical books and the second prize of Shanghai Scientific and Technical improvement.
