Born
in Shanghai in 1935, Lu Ruqian graduated from Yena University of
Germany in 1959, where his major was mathematics. After the
graduation, he returned to China and worked in the mathematics school
of the Chinese Academy of Science. Mr. Lu was elected as a member of
the Chinese Academy of Science in 1999. Since 2000, he has begun to
work in Fudan University as a researcher and a doctoral student
supervisor. During his career life, he was ever the deputy director of
the mathematics school and director of the academic committee.
With his great contribution to the information engineering and
software engineering based on knowledge, Mr. Lu was one of the
pioneers in this field. He recommended, directed and carried out a
series of software programs based on the mechanical growth and
transplant. He also promoted the solution to the software-lack
problems. Under his leadership, the software program was awarded the
first prize of great contribution of the Chinese Academy of Science in
1983. The committee itself was also named "excellent academic
committee".
