  Wang Weiqi

Professor Wang Weiqi was born in Shanghai, China on May 30,1939. He graduated from Physics Department of Fudan University in 1961. He was elected the member of Chinese Academy of engineering in 1999.He is the executive professor and supervisor of Ph.D. program in Fudan University. He was the recipient of AIUM/WFUMB Pioneer Award, National Invention Award (2nd place), and other 17 awards. Now he is developing the noninvasive extraction method of medical signal based on modern theory such as Fractal, Mathematical Morphology, wavelet, Poles tracking etc. He got excellent results on the quantitative method for blood flow velocity measurement with Doppler Ultrasound. His research interests involve some areas of medical ultrasound and medical electronics including medical signal analysis, processing, ultrasound imaging, blood flow measurements, tissue characterization. Professor Wang is the editor of 11 academic journals, such as Chinese Journal of Biomedical Engineering, Chinese Journal of ultrasonograpy etc. He is the director of several academic associates, such as Chinese Associate of Biomedical Engineering, Chinese Associate of Acoustics etc. And the vice chairman of Shanghai Biomedical Engineering Associate.
