Born
in Zhenhai, Zhejiang provice, Yang Xiongli graduated from the
Department of Biology of Shanghai Scientific and Technical University
in 1963. Mr. Yang got his doctor's degree on nerve biology of the
state-run biophysics study school in Japan in 1982 and became a member
of the Chinese Academy of Science in 1991. He majors in nerve biology
and biophysics. His main works include "Nerve Science", "optical nerve
mechanism " and "the modern development of brain science". He also
published over a hundred papers, organized and participated in many
scientific and research projects. In 1989, he got the first prize on
science of the Chinese Academy of Science and the second prize in
1996. In 1991, he was awarded the title of Shanghai Scientific and
techinical elite.
