EMBA Program
The School of Management of Fudan University and the Olin School of
Business of Washington University run an EMBA (Executive Master of
Business Administration) program cooperatively.
The Olin School of Business of Washington University in St. Louis is
a world-famous business school. The Olin EMBA program is ranked
among the world top 20 by the American magazines like Business
Weekly, American News and World Report. Approved by both the
Ministry of Education and the Academic Degree Committee of the State
Council, the program started on March 24, 2002. Today there are
altogether 74 students. The program includes 20 courses and lasts
for 18 months. All taught by Olin and Fudan professors, the courses
include corporation strategy, advanced corporation finance, advanced
marketing, data models, and decision-making.
MBA (International) Program
On Sep. 9th, 2000 Fudan University and the University of Hong Kong
jointly co-established the Shanghai-Hong Kong Institute of
Management.
In cooperation with the School of Management of Fudan University and
the School of Economics and Business Administration of the
University of Hong Kong, the Institute's mission is to enroll IMBA
candidates and train advanced managerial personnel who have a
worldwide vision and a deep understanding of the real situation in
China. The program was approved by the Academic Degree Committee of
the State Council and started in September 1998 .The program is made
up of compulsory and optional courses. Students are required to
finish twelve compulsory courses and four optional courses,
including business negotiation, management economics, financial
accounting, organizational behavior, and quantity analysis in
management decision.
Joint Program with the Software School
Fudan University cooperates with Dublin University, Ireland, aiming
at training more software experts.
Dublin University is one of the best in Ireland, while the Software
School of Fudan was newly established on September 3rd, 2002 as one
of the 35 national experimental software schools approved by the
Ministry of Education and the then National Development and Planning
Commission. The Software School offers undergraduate and graduate
courses of three disciplines: network software, network service and
software engineering.
The cooperation agreement concerning the program between Dublin
University and Fudan mainly addresses the following aspects:
- An Irish class for fifty undergraduates has been established, of
which one third of the courses will be given by Irish professors.
- The fifty Irish Class undergraduates will be granted B.S. degrees
by both universities.
- The cooperation programs of graduate courses and academic faculty
training have been discussed and the agreement in this regard is
generally approved.
Joint Program with Sloan School of MIT
The School of Management of Fudan University cooperates with MIT's
Sloan School to run an IMBA program in 1995.
The Sloan School offers certificates to the qualified students in
the program.
Other Joint Programs
The Sociology Department of Fudan University runs a joint master
program of social services with the University of Hong Kong.
The Chinese Department of Fudan University runs a doctoral program
of Chinese language and literature in Singapore with the Singapore
Chinese Teachers' Union. This is the first overseas educational
program that has ever been approved by the Ministry of Education.
The College English Center of Fudan and the University of Sidney
co-started in 2003 a master program for college teachers of English.
Medical Area
As a nationally key comprehensive university, Fudan has been
attaching great importance to various cooperation projects with
world-famous colleges, institutes, foundations and enterprises to
pursue higher quality of education. Fudan's Medical School, for
instance, holds the leading place in China with a solid foundation
for research work. In 2001, it signed agreements on twenty-one
international cooperation projects.

By March 2002, there had been altogether twenty-five international
projects at Fudan Medical School.
Fudan Medical School launched a three-year project with the Medical
School of the University of Hong Kong and co-established the
Clinical Medicine Testing Center.
The projects introduced by the Medical School of Fudan cover various
aspects of medical sciences. The Chinese American Medical Society
Foundation in particular enjoys a long history and global great
reputation.
Chinese American Medical Society
The Chinese American Medical Society Foundation sponsors projects in
eleven medical universities and colleges in China, including medical
training, research, library construction, and nursing programs.
Fudan's Medical School is one of the eleven sponsored schools. By
2002, the Medical School of Fudan had participated in fifteen
projects with the Chinese American Medical Society Foundation (two
projects for 2001: "Self-care for Chronicle Diseases" and
"Prevention and Treatment of Smoking") with the total investment of
8 million USD.

Nordic Studies Program
The Nordic Studies Program of Fudan's Nordic Center was initiated in
2000. Courses are given by professors from Lund University, Uppsala
University of Sweden, and Bergen University of Norway. Students from
the schools of International Relations & Public Affairs, Economics
and Law and the Sociology Department are enrolled in this program.
In 2002, for instance, 36 students from six schools and departments
attended the courses from October 17th to April 2003. The program
gives credits to all qualified students and offers top students with
scholarships for their studies abroad at Lund University for one
semester.
Master Course for Chinese Politics
A six-week master course was established by Fudan's Department of
International Relations and the Department of Comparative Politics
of Bergen University, Norway. It is taught by both Chinese and
Norwegian professors. The qualified students get ten credits of the
European credit system.
The Course of Scandinavian Politics from a European Perspective
The course was launched Fudan's Department of International
Relations of and the Comparative Politics Department of Bergen
University, Norway in 1995. Every year, professors from Bergen come
to Fudan to teach the undergraduates of the International Relations
Department. The qualified students will get credits at the end of
the course.
China-Japan-Korea Long-Distance Course
The course was launched in October, 2002 with the cooperation of
Fudan's School of International Relations & Public Affairs, Keio
University of Japan, and Yonsei University of Korea.
Center for Asian Studies
The History Department of Fudan established its Center for Asian
Studies, supported by Korean Higher Education Consortium with an
investment of 1.6 million USD.
The Center conducts researches mainly on the politics, economy and
culture of the Asian countries and regions.
Other cooperation projects in social sciences include Fudan
University- the University of Hong Kong Research Program on the WTO
and the Development of China, the Doctorial Dissertation Workshop
co-established by the Economics School of Fudan and the Business
School of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Seminars for NGO
co-held by Fudan's Sociology Department and the Himalaya Foundation
of Taiwan, and the Common Law Course given jointly by the Law School
of Fudan and the City University of Hong Kong. All these projects
have proved exceedingly fruitful and boosted the development of
Fudan University.
