Psychological Counseling:

1. What is Psychological Counseling?

So far, people have found out no simple definition for psychological counseling. Patterson claims that psychological counseling is a type of interpersonal relations, in which the consultant offers certain psychological circumstances or conditions to help the consulter reach his/her own decisions and thus solve the problems that s/he is confronted with. In this way the consulter will form an independent personality that is responsible for his/her own behavior. The ultimate purpose of this method is to make the consulter a better human being and a better member of society. According to Qian Ming-yi, counseling is a process during which the consultant uses psychological methods to help the consulters regain the desire for independence and improvement.

2. Principles of Psychological Counseling:

(1) Privacy: Whatever you talk about, our consultants will keep it secret so that no one else will be informed. Thus, you can open your heart and tell us whatever you want to.
(2) Absolute Concern: No matter what you tell us, we will never judge you by moral standards. And it is our firm belief that everything you did was reasonable at least to you in one way or another.
(3) From Help to Self-help: What we will actually do for you is not to find ideas or solutions for you. Instead we will help you to pinpoint the very troubles and to find out how to shoot them. In the counseling, you can develop your mental integrity. In this sense, we will give you the net rather than the fish.

Psychological Tests:

1. What is Psychological Testing?

Psychological testing is a method by which to quantify people's mentality. By observing the examinee¡¯s reactions to some designed questions, we can analyze his/her inner mind descriptively.

Analyzing your psyche from different perspectives, you will have a more thorough understanding of yourself, and thus can you resolve the vulnerabilities of your character. You will learn to control your emotions and tap your potential in studying, making friends, choosing careers and communicating with others.

2. Our Testing Services include

(1) Tests of Personality: 16PF, MMPI;
(2) Tests of Mental Health: SCL-90;
(3) Tests of Career Inclination/Capability;
(4) Tests of IQ: Raven¡¯s SPM, verbal IQ tests, etc.
And so forth.
