Frost’s Descent(Chinese: 霜降), the 18th solar term in traditional Chinese lunar calendar, begins this year on Oct 23 and ends on Nov 6, through which winter is gradually ushered in by late autumn. When Frost’s Decent arrives, most areas in China will see a blast of cold air, leading to a bleak land with vegetation withering.
In contrast to the chill and desolation, Frost’s Descent has an adorable symbol, a sweet fruit wearing bright orange coats, persimmon. Although we don’t expect many green leaves in late autumn, yellow persimmons on brown boughs under the clear blue sky also make up an uniquely delightful view.

NATURE XXVIII. AUTUMN
Emily Dickinson
The morns are meeker than they were,
The nuts are getting brown;
The berry's cheek is plumper,
The rose is out of town.
The maple wears a gayer scarf,
The field a scarlet gown.
Lest I should be old-fashioned,
I'll put a trinket on.
