Graduates from Class 2019(Spring) and Class 2019(Fall) of the Fudan-Corvinus Double Degree Master Program received two certificates at the graduation ceremony on July 22, 2021: the Master in Finance (MSc) from Fudan University and Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Corvinus University of Budapest.
This program aims to train financial talents from Hungary and neighboring countries in Central and Eastern Europe, helping students understand how China develops its economy and preparing them for emerging economical and geopolitical challenges.
25 graduating students of Class 2019(Spring) and Class 2019(Fall) as well as those who are currently attending the program joined the ceremony on the campus of Corvinus University of Budapest in person or online.
Chen Zhimin, vice president of Fudan University, said despite the unpredictable effects brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, the world economy, trade and investment had adapted themselves to cope with the circumstance. According to statistics, in 2020, china is no.1 trading state in the world and also the no. 1 outbound foreign direct investment country.. As the program is highly relevant to China’s economy and finance today, Chen believes the graduates will be able to have a great career with their insight on the economic development of their own countries and the rest of the world.
Szántó Zoltán Oszkár, vice president of Corvinus University of Budapest, said everything the students experienced and learned in this program would benefit the students for a lifetime. He added, the graduates had received unswerving support from their families and the teachers and staff of the program.
Horváth Levente, representative of Magyar Nemzeti Bank, said all future global leaders need to understand how China and its economy are developing as China has played an important role in a shifting world order. He expected that graduates, as the alumni of both Fudan University and Corvinus University of Budapest, to build a bridge of friendship, exchange and cooperation for China and Hungary, as well as their neighboring countries.
Fehér Péter, dean of the graduate school of Corvinus University of Budapest and senior professor of this program, believes that this double degree program is a significant investment in their life. It helps participants explore the trends in the economy of Central and Eastern Europe and China. The global alumni network will better equip students for future career success.
Zhang Jun, dean of School of Economics, Fudan University, said the School of Economics of Fudan University has 19 alumni offices around the world, including New York, Toronto, Paris and London. He looks forward to setting up a new alumni office in Budapest and to working with the alumni to contribute to the cooperation in economy and investment between the two countries.
