From 1905 to 2023,
Fudan University,
the first institution of higher education
proudly founded by a Chinese person,
is celebrating its 118th birthday today.
For all Fudaners,
May 27 is an important date
that recalls their dearest Fudan memories.

01 Hello, Fudan
Let's travel back to
Fudan's main campus on
220 Handan Road, Shanghai.
There we started our first day
with excitement and nervousness.
We watched well-choreographed plays
in the Xianghui Theater.
On Fenglin Campus,
as medical students,
we pledged to care for patients
with our all heart.
Fudan's motto
Rich in knowledge
and tenacious of purposes,
inquiring with earnestness
and reflecting with self-practice
was engraved on our mind.
We were fascinated by
the rich curriculum,
strict yet kind instructors,
and outstanding peers.
We engaged ourselves in
interdisciplinary research groups
to tackle frontier science problems.
We were encouraged
to be who we want to be
and give full play to our talents.
Fudan University
is where our dreams began.
02 We Shine Like Stars
Getting to know the many shining examples
among Fudan alumni,
we yearned to be as brilliant
and to make Fudan proud.
We aimed
not only to shine academically,
but also to shine in theaters
and on sports fields.
In our free time,
we liked to take a stroll on campus
and appreciate the wonder of nature.
The chirping birds
and meowing kittens
cheered us up always so easily.
03 The Quest Never Ends
But it is true that
all good things
must come to an end.
Time passed in a blink of eye
There we were,
fully dressed for
the graduation ceremony.
It was a day for us to bid farewell
to our classmates and professors,
but it also marked a brand new start
for our next life chapter.
From that day on,
we scattered all over the world
working in different sectors.
We continued to pursue our dreams
while making the world a better place.
Our dearest Fudan,
Happy 118th birthday.
