Young diplomatic talents from BRI countries gather online

The 4th Advanced Training Program for Young Diplomatic Talents from the Belt and Road Countries ended with success on July 6.



The program, lasting from June 16 to July 6, aims to promote mutual understanding between young diplomatic talents from Belt and Road countries. With the theme of “Consensus, Common Prosperity and Sharing”, the Advanced Training Program for Young Diplomatic Talents from Belt and Road Countries serves as a platform for young diplomatic talents from Belt and Road countries to learn from each other and discuss issues about China’s roles in the world and the future of global governance. The program introduces students to political, economic, social, cultural and ecological developments in China, analyzes China’s new diplomatic perspectives and policies, discusses the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and regional cooperation and governance.


Supported by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, directed by the International Students Office of Fudan University and organized by the School of International Relations and Public Affairs of Fudan University (hereinafter referred to as “SIRPA”), the Program was joined by 19 participants from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Ireland, Egypt, Pakistan, Philippines, Kyrgyzstan, Cameroon, Malaysia, Nepal, Serbia, Turkey, Singapore, Italy and other countries along the Belt and Road.



Renowned professors and scholars from SIRPA, Institute for Six-sector Economy, Institute for Global Public Policy and other departments of Fudan University were invited as the lecturers. Their lectures covered issues based on BRI, including China’s international cooperation, diplomatic strategies, political party system and urban and community governance.


The program also offers basic Chinese language courses to help students gain a better understanding of Chinese culture and the diversity of global civilizations from different dimensions.


In the last sessions of the program, the participants conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions based on their countries’ governance practices, external relations and participation in BRI.
